An Arcade Snowboard Game built in public.

As a kid, I loved playing Snowboard Kids on my N64. Since then I am missing anything similar on any console, so I finally decided to start developing it myself. Follow along my journey of building a fun arcade snowboard game! Get involved and send ideas or feedback, and also dont forget to sign up for the newsletter.

Physics Continued

I dropped the idea of the rolling ball because it was somewhat uncontrollable. So after taking a deep look at what actually happens when boarding, I came up with these physics. Looks somewhat promising, and might even be enough to get started. I will probably come back to this at a later stage, but for now its enough!

Physics Getting Started

I had the idea, that a rolling ball would fit well for physics. But the board did roll with the ball, which is not what I wanted 😁 After a bit of trial and error I got a somewhat working movement, but I am not happy with the outcome. I will put some more effort into this the coming days!

Logo Ideas Pt.3

I came up with something different after discussing the ideas with a friend, I like this a lot. But for now, that is enough for the logo. Let's finally get started with the game development!

Logo Ideas

Today I have been doing some rough sketches for the logo. I like it bold, focusing on the Font wihtout much extra stuff.

The one on the right with the bigger BROS. letters is my favorite for now, next I will digitalize it and do some basic coloring. Let's see where it takes me, maybe in the end I will end up with something completely different

Welcome!

Today I am starting a new journey. I always wanted to build a similar game to Snowboard Kids, because I enjoyed it so much in the past and there is nothing comparable out there.

So I decided to do it in public, letting everyone follow along from day one, today. I will keep you updated on everything that happens, from logo design to game development. It will look rough in the beginning, and that is normal. But if you have never seen a game being developed you might think, wow this looks so bad I will never ever play it. Please be patient and kind, as game development is a long process and all the shine and polish only comes at the end!
